Choose a walk.
Six languages on the first screen, chosen before anything else loads. Every tour shows its length, its walking time and whether the route is step free.
Talestep is a GPS guided audio tour platform for places. Your brand on the app, your routes on the map, your data in the dashboard. Visitors scan a code and start walking.

The problem
They arrive, photograph the famous view, buy a coffee and go. The quieter lanes, the independent shops and the sites two minutes off the main route stay empty on the same afternoon the centre is full. Printed trails go out of date the moment a business closes. Consumer tour apps take a cut and keep the visitor for themselves. Guided walks only run when a guide is free.
Talestep gives you a route you control and a story that starts by itself as someone walks it.
How it works
You decide the stops, the order and the story you want told. We map the geofences on the street and tune them until they trigger reliably.
Every script is written from sources you approve, checked sentence by sentence against those sources, then voiced in six languages.
A QR code on a poster, a card or a window. The tour opens in the browser, caches itself, and plays hands free as they move.
The visitor app
Six languages on the first screen, chosen before anything else loads. Every tour shows its length, its walking time and whether the route is step free.
The story starts as they arrive, without anyone reaching for a phone. If GPS drops out, and in a walled city it will, every stop has a play button as a permanent fallback.
Full transcripts on every stop, for Deaf and hard of hearing visitors, or anyone simply in a place too loud to listen.
The last stop can point at an independent trader, a ticketed site or the next route. You decide where the walk lets people go.
The console
Each script arrives with its sources listed underneath. Approve, edit or reject. Nothing reaches a visitor until someone at your organisation has said yes.
Set the brand once and it applies across every screen a visitor sees. Change the welcome message in under a minute, with no developer involved.
Add a stop, reorder a walk, take a tour offline for a weekend of roadworks. All of it without a release.
A plain summary of the week, written for the people who will never open a dashboard.
The evidence
Every walk produces anonymous data you have never had before: which stops hold attention, where people drop out, which language they chose, what time of day the route is busiest, how far from the centre they got. It is footfall dispersal you can show a board, a funder or a levy payer, rather than describe.
No accounts, no cookies, no personal data. Sessions are anonymous and cannot be linked back to a person.
Why it holds up
Scripts are generated only from material you approve, and each sentence is mapped back to the source it came from. If the sources do not support a claim, the script does not make it.
WCAG 2.2 AA, full transcripts, screen reader labels and step free route information. Tested on a phone in the street, not only in a browser.
Geofences are tuned street by street until they fire reliably, and every stop keeps a manual play button as a backup if GPS ever drops out.
No accounts, no personal data, no advertising. Anonymous sessions only, hosted in the UK.

Talk to us
Send us the destination, roughly how many visitors you see, and what you would want a first route to do. We will come back with what it would take and what it would cost.
hello@talestep.comNo. It runs in the phone's browser. They scan a code and it opens.
Yours. The visitor sees your logo, your colours and your words. Talestep is the platform underneath, not the badge on the front.
We do, from sources you supply and approve, and nothing publishes until someone at your organisation approves it.
Every stop has a manual play button as a permanent fallback, and we tune the trigger radius on the street for each stop.
Six with the subscription. More can be added, since the same approved script is translated rather than rewritten.
Anonymous journey data: completion, stop by stop attention, language mix and dispersal. No personal data is collected at all.
Talestep is licensed as a single annual subscription, agreed directly with your organisation. It depends on the number of stops, the languages you need and how much usable source material already exists. Tell us about the place and we will put a number to it.
No. The subscription is annual and covers the build of your agreed routes. Extra routes, extra languages and seasonal layers beyond that are extras, quoted on demand as you need them.
